Town Board Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each Month
The Town Plan Commission Regular Monthly Meetings to be held at 7:00 PM usually the 2nd Monday of the month.
If a Public Hearing is scheduled, it will be held at 7:00 PM and the TPC Regular Monthly Meeting will immediately follow the Public Hearing.
If you plan to attend please check the Town Hall posting site or call to make sure there is a meeting that month.

Town History
The name NEPEUSKUN is an Indian name meaning “Sweet Bush” which is the Sugar Maple Tree. The Town of Nepeuskun is located in the southwest corner of Winnebago County. Its southern border is Fond du Lac County and its western boundary is Green Lake County. It is the most rural town in the county with a population of approximately 700 people. Located in the town is an unincorporated area called Rush Lake, which has about 25 homes, an automotive repair shop, and a bar/restaurant business.
Also within the Town boundary is approximately 90% of a 3000-acre lake also called Rush Lake. This lake is what is known as a “prairie pothole’ and it is the largest one of these east of the Mississippi River. This pothole recently completed a “2 year draw down situation” which exposed many acres of mud flats (2006-2007). This exposure allowed the bulrushes to germinate and grow back into the lake. These bulrushes have been disappearing over the last several years do to continued water coverage. The draw down along with targeted chemical treatment has reduced the carp population in the lake. Rush Lake Watershed Restoration, Inc. and the DNR will monitor these goals on an ongoing basis.
Nepeuskun is the home of the Nepeuskun Anti-Horse Thieves Association established in 1859. This association was one of the first corporations established and registered with the State of Wisconsin. Its duties were to help track down stolen horses and the people who took them and turn them over to local authorities. These days not many horses are stolen but the association still holds its meeting/dinner once a year. The main course on the menu is oyster stew. Anyone wishing to join may do so by attending the annual meeting/dinner, which is always held on the 3rd Thursday in January from 11 am till 3 pm, or contact the current President, Rob Stone at (920) 685-5237.
